Not impressed at all. I always try to be less critical of Brisbane's restaurants but when then I hit a hurdle again. Average food for price and poor service. Try somewhere else.

My wife and I took two very close Brisbane friends to Bretts' last night. We all loved it! Food was excellent, the service and ambience was just as good. A little expensive, but this is what you pay for.
We had the duck, scallops and seafood chowder for entrees. All were very good indeed. I realy enjoyed the chowder! Mains were the lamb and the seafood platter, which were excellent. Dessert was very good too, we had affogato and the creme brulee. Drinks are a little expensive, but acceptably priced overall. We all had a great night!

I brought my wife here for a special dinner a few years ago. Looking at the menu I noticed the spaghetti marinara was in a tomato sauce when I prefer it in a cream sauce. I mentioned that to the waiter, who said "I'm sure chef can make that for you sir." I said "really?" and he said "He is a real chef you know." I was absolutely astonished, as it was the first time I'd encountered service anything like that. And quite by accident, that happened to be the night of Riverfire so we got a view of the fireworks as well.

Time to catch up with updates again. Nothing much to say about Bretts Wharf. Went there for a birthday lunch a number of years ago, and whilst the place was virtually empty, the service was average.
The food, whilst ok, did not justify the exhorbitant pricing. I had the salt and pepper calamari which while tasty the citrus dressing drowned any semblance of flavour of the meal. All I could taste was lime. My partner had been since (not with me), and reported that not much had changed. No need to avoid, but don't expect too much either.

It's always a bit hard finding interesting places to take interstate visitors over Easter to eat, as so many places close. Thank you then to Brett's Wharf for staying open!
Four of us went on Good Friday, and decided to stick to seafood all night. The seafood chowder starter was a winner, as was the interesting tiger prawns in 'waistcoats'. For mains the moreton bay bugs were exceptional, though the fish and chips was also very good as a budget option.
We couldn't fit dessert in but they did look tempting. Service was pretty good given that it was pretty busy and they looked a bit stretched. On a public holiday I can forgive, and we weren't in a rush.
Though not the cheapest restaurant in town it's certainly not the most expensive either. The view is very nice and this is a reliable spot to take visitors.

Our experience at Brett's Wharf was fabulous. We decided at the last minute to have lunch for my husband's birthday. We were seated as soon as we arrived and immediately given menus and drinks. Our waitress arrived and introduced herself and asked if we would like more drinks.
The food was exceptional! So fresh and tasty. And the courses arrived at just the right intervals to allow the previous course to settle. We didn't tell the waitress that it was my husband's birthday but she must have overheard us and when dessert arrived so did a chocolate "Happy Birthday".
Our waitress was due for a break before we had finished lunch so she came to let us know that she was going on her break and introduced the waiter that would then be looking after us. Will definitely return!

A winner! Not cheap, but can be good value if you make a worthy investment in the Entertainment Book. Delicious food, beautiful view and great service.

Have been going here for 3 years. Amazing steaks even though it is a seafood restaurant. Everything on the menu is outstanding. Chefs will modify menu or make suggestions to cater for any dietary needs. Very attentive staff. Immaculate presentation. Not cheap but worth every cent. You won't be disappointed and if you feel something is not right then they will even cook you another meal to your liking as we had with a steak once. Make sure you book as it is popular. My fav brizzie restaurant.

Have eaten here sereral times and each time come away feeling the food was okay but the service far less than acceptable especially given the prices expected. Our worst experience occurred when we were told very bluntly that the service was poor (on that day) because lunch had been busier than anticipated. Food is just okay and not anywhere near its reputation. We now go straight to Portside. More choice, better food and service at each place has to date always been pleasant.
