What a surprise! Local to the Chermside area, my partner and I often struggle to find local eats like this! The staff were friendly and attentive and the food sensational! We enjoyed a lovely bottle of Italian chianti and mused over a range of delightful morsels offered on the antipasti selection. What was to be a brief escape from the week day dinner grind may have just become our new favorite place to go!

Last thursday me and my wife went for dinner and it was fantastic. I had the chef seafood tagini and loved every bite. My wife carol said the same about the the moreton bay bugs pasta. The ambience was amazing and the service was impeccable. Highly recommended and can't wait for a return visit!

Well, what a disappointment this place was! We had been looking forward to going to this restaurant for quite a while and it was just a let down. Firstly, we arrived and were seated and asked the waiter for a wine menu. He said sure, and disappeared. 5-10 minutes later, another waiter appeared to take our drinks order and we said we were still waiting on the wine menu. He disappeared and after another 10 minutes the original waiter appeared to take our drinks order where we had to explain again that we were waiting for the wine menu! That wasn't a huge deal but we learnt it was the kind of service you should expect at Bella Cosi.
Finally we got our wine and it was not what we ordered! Not by a little bit either, we'd ordered white wine and got red? Our dinner came and seriously, I'm a very average cook but I could have done better. It seemed like cafeteria pasta, not special or any wow factors at all, very ordinary. And after all that, we had to go chase up a waiter to try to pay our bill, which was overpriced. Will not ever be going back there sorry. Would not recommend.

After reading the review from 20/8/09 regarding the service at Bella Cosi I would like to share our experience on the 28/09/2009. My husband and I phoned and made a reservation for dinner at 6 pm for a 6.30 pm dinner. When we arrived at 6.30 pm we were told that our booking did not exist, and after a delay (and an interrogation) were given a table outside.
We were given no service at all after that, not a drink of water or anything. After 30 minutes of waiting a waitress offered service to a couple that had arrived 3 customers after us. A gentleman who arrived 2 customers after us complained and she served him. At this point we walked out.
It was absolutely abysmal service and an extremely disappointing restaurant experience. We don't get the opportunity to go out without the kids very often and we don't want to pay a babysitter to sit there and be ignored. We left and went to another local restaurant and were served straight away. We will not be back. They need to address this issue if they want to be a successful restaurant.

When I went to this restaurant for the first time it was a Friday night and it was extremely busy. To start with I had some of the bread, which was brought to me really quickly and was yum. For my entree I had the Garlic Prawns, they were delicious, they were fresh and the flavour was great.
For my main I had the Scallopini Al Fungi, this is a favorite of mine and everywhere I go if they have this I eat it. From everywhere I have eaten all over Australia this is by far the best I've had. During the meal I sampled a couple new cocktails I had never hard of before, and lastly for dessert (by far the best part) I had the signature dessert, the Tiramisu. I'd definitely go back just for that. The service was excellant and the staff young and friendly. I cannot praise this restaurant enough, I had a great time.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Bella Cosi and we had a fantastic night! I had the quail which was the special of the day (but we found out that it will be on their new menu) it was the best I have ever had! The atmoshpere was really buzzing and we were certainly in no hurry to leave. Our main meals came out and that was the only time we were all quiet as we were savouring every mouth full. To the Chef at Bella Cosi, Our compliments! We can't wait to come back again!

I am writing to let you know of the terrible experience I had at Bella Cosi last night. I had taken my dog to Greencross Vet down the road yesterday, spotted the restaurant and thought how nice it would be to have somewhere new to dine so close to home. When my partner arrived home from work I suggested we try take away but he wanted to come and eat at the venue so we thought we would head over and see if there were any free tables.
The waitress who greeted us looked around at the room which was at least 80% empty (7 pm) and frowned like she may not be able to accommodate us (what a joke, and not exactly a nice welcome). I then saw her do the same thing to the customers who walked in shortly after us, telling them they should not have come without a booking. They had to explain they were from out of town and staying at the Quest up the road before she seated them!
Is it really so unimaginable that this would happen? We ordered a Chinotto, Calamari entree and two pastas shortly after we were seated and watched as three tables seated after us received their drinks and entrees while our table sat empty. At 7:50 pm, 50 minutes after we sat down! still nothing. We were so disgusted that we left. I can not believe that not one of the three wait staff serving others around us noticed we did not have any drinks or food.
Not one of them bothered to check or even glance our way so we could get their attention. What an absolutely pathetic excuse for a new restaurant.

For a chef who is not italian the food was excellent!
Our group was very impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. For starters we had Fritto Misto di Mare and Garlic Prawns, both of which were delicately infused with pure olive oil bringing out a great flavour.
Our mains consisted of Wild Mushroom & Rocket Risotto and Filleto di Manzo. Both dishes could not be faulted in taste. The fillet was "melt in your mouth" tenderness. Our desert was Chocolate and Almond Semi Freddo which we shared. The taste had the wholesomeness of home made gelato. Our friends shared the Vanilla Panna Cotta but felt it really was a portion for one.
We will certainly go back as the food was really good quality and priced fairly enough to entice us back again.
