After seeing the bad review this place got, I'd have to say that I've been here before, and it's actually quite good. This was the first yum cha place I've ever been to. I went there somewhere around October 2010.

The food was excellent. I don't think it could be any better, so I've given it a 10. I don't ever remember being served anything lukewarm or cold. Everything was hot and ready to eat. The atmosphere I felt was a bit lacking. It was a little bit crowded for my tastes, and if I recall correctly I think the toilet could look a bit nicer too.

The service was lacking a bit. While I appreciate the opportunity to use chopsticks, I'm not Asian, and I have not yet learned how to successfully operate them properly. I really don't like having to request a knife and fork, as all Asian restaurants where I come from give people who aren't Asian a knife and fork by default. Also, the knife and fork were too large for the tiny bowl provided.

I now understand that it is supposed to be eaten with chopsticks in a tiny bowl, but I think they should've supplied a Western style plate as well for bonus points with attention to detail.

I think the service lady was unable to understand my English very well when I asked what kind of teas they had, even though I speak proper English. On the good side, the dim sum carts came regularly and had a wide variety of food to choose from. The staff were friendly, polite, and everything else I'd expect.

As for value, I thought it was quite good value at the time, but now that I have a bit more knowledge about yum cha restaurants, I think the value is good, but not great.

Having eaten quite well here twice before, wanted to check it out as preparation for a very special celebration meal with Asian friends. Service was atrocious. Wine after wine I asked for came back (after 10 minutes each) with 'we are out'.

Eventually, asked them what they actually had, and being presented with 2 wines, had prescience to ask the prices, one was hundreds of dollars. The waitress did not know the difference between 'spilling the wine' and 'pouring the wine', and was much better at the former. On complaining, the senior staff was quite unconcerned. Some dishes Ok, others grossly greasy. This is a restaurant in a great location which is ideal for takeover by someone who knows how to run a restaurant.
