I have been to this restaurant about five or six times and every single time I have enjoyed my meal and had great service. It's a shame that there isn't another Amicis on the southside of Brisbane because parking can be a nightmare, especially if you're trying to meet people there at a certain time! (they no longer validate the parking if you buy a meal).

Amici was our first ever dining experience in Brisbane and, as such, was a disappointment. We arrived a bit before 8 pm tired and footsore after a long day of playing tourist and simply wanted to split a pizza, some salad and down a beer or two. We just wanted cheap and cheerful and really didn't have high expectations.
Some fairly ordinary garlic bread appeared after a few minutes and a warmish bottle of Heineken, and then for at least 40 minutes, nothing. Being tired and in holiday mode, we weren't too worried, but after a further wait we finally got the attention of one of the waiting staff who then went off to the kitchen, which is in full view of the dining area.
We noticed some waiving of arms and pointing in our direction and then a young lad who called himself the "assistant manager" came over, apologised, there had been a mix-up etc etc and our pizza was three minutes away. 10 minutes later, a pizza that looked like it had been thrown together by a crack-smoking chimpanzee arrived on our table along with a salad.
By this time we were a bit ticked off but still not to the point of complaining and making a scene, the pizza was all but raw towards the middle and the base appeared to be some sort of pre-packaged job. However, things took a turn for the worse when my wife discovered a live grub crawling through the salad.
Fast-forward to the cash register, and we were given what seemed like a ten-minute apology, offers of free food (no thanks) and were told that the meal was comped.
To be fair to the staff who were there on the night, they did everything possible to put the situation right, but by then it was too late. We are not big complainers and have never demanded that we not pay for a meal, no matter how bad it has been, but we simply cannot recommend Amicis.

Awesome love this place. Staff are friendly, food is fantastic and definitely really good value for money. We come here at least once a month. Great of your on a budget and still want a decent night out.

There were about 20 empty tables yet we had to line-up to get inside. Service was well below average - reminded me of my days as a uni student in a cafeteria serving 200 people a sitting. There were way too many staff and the place was a mess. The food also bought back the same memories - I'm pretty sure there was a big bane out the back with a dozen sauces under heat lamps. To top the night off we had to line up to pay our bill!!!! It took about 15 minutes to pay them to leave.

Oh, of course, I am in Brisbane, in what should be a renowned restaurant precinct. Service is a word between scrappy and shabby in the dictionary. For all the fancy description on the menu, all I asked for was a meat pattie inside a chunk of toasted Turkish, with some chips and salad. How can it take that long to throw at a plate?

Great value for money, good atmosphere and freindly service. Really yummy food. The only bad thing... the bathrooms may need attention. Other than that pretty good.
