This simple Vietnamese place is small, has simple plastic seats and is very much like a small restaurant you would find in South East Asia. It is very clean. This is not a place to sit and contemplate over a long meal or to have a large group as it is small (perhaps, only 20 seats).

It may be small and very simple but it feels authentic. The food is authentic Vietnamese, unlike many other Vietnamese places in Brisbane that are mostly Chinese styled food. The food is simply fantastic, flavoursome, good quality and fresh ingredients. There are great soups, and some are a little spicy too as well, which is great. The spicy beef soup is great as is the mild seafood soup. The salads are full of flavour and the meat and rice dishes are beautifully cooked and quality.

The menu is small, which, unlike many asian eateries with large menus (and average quality) this indicates that AJ does a smaller menu to ensure simplicity and quality. The price is unbeatable here. Mains are set at just $8.90 and entrees (rice paper rolls) for $5.90 for 3 rolls. Brillaint value and all dishes cost the same. Easy.

The service is very fast, we get our meals in minutes. The service is minimal, no fuss and polite. There is casual feel to this place and it is always quite busy. Not a place for a lingering meal, but unbeatable for fast quality meal at great value.
This place is simply a gem.
