First ime there. Atmosphere suited country hotel we have visited in past. Food Ok but not A La Cart.

This is not fine dining, it is a Bar and Grill and priced accordingly. I could not fault anything about this place, the service was excellent, the staff were friendly and professional. Despite being very busy we didn't have to wait very long for an excellent meal that was very good value for money. Portions were more than adequate and the food was very tasty. We were lucky to be in an outside area well away from the main bar so for us the ambience was just right. Great place for meeting friends, having a family meal or a relaxing night with your partner. We will definitely be back.

After hearing about the new chef I tried this place again - and was rewarded for doing so. My date and I ordered wings for entree and a steak and chicken risotto for main - all very tasty - spoke to the manager who told me the chef makes all condiments and sides himself - like the mayo etc... nothing from a can or prepackaged - great work 4017 - see you soon.

When we arrived we were greeted by a sign telling us to wait to be seated. After waiting for about 5 minutes one of the bar staff called out "you guys right?" and after explaining we were there to eat, a 'waiter' was sent out to ask us where we would like to sit. Then after we'd just sat down, he told us we had to get up again and order at the counter.

Our food took a long time coming out - several people who'd entered after us were served well before us. My entree (garlic bread) was snatched away before I'd even halfway finished it, the girl saying "oh you're finished with this yeah?" while she was already walking away.

I ordered the 300g rump steak (rare) with chips, salad and mushroom sauce. The steak was not rare, and not even properly cooked. The underside was burnt to a blackened crisp, and cooked unevenly in the middle, being slighter pinker on the top side. The fat had not been trimmed and the steak was very gristly, as well as burnt.

The salad was a tiny tower-shaped serving of some kind of tasteless coleslaw. The only edible things on the plate were the chips. The mushroom sauce came in a tiny bowl and was not nearly enough. My companion who ordered the lime & prawn linguini complained it was far too spicy, which hid all over flavours supposedly present in the dish.

I have eaten pub food before, for much cheaper, and have never had such a poor meal. If you're looking for a relatively cheap meal out, this is not the place. Even the beer is expensive, and the service is so bad it's insulting.

I live just 200m away so I thought it would be a great spot to go and watch the rugby. However, $14.80 for a schooner of Coopers and a schooner of XXXX Gold is a bit steep!

Great night out, band was pumping, food was fast and tasty, beer was cold, love the new look of the old post office, drop in if you're round that way.

The 300grm steak was well over cooked, asked for med / rare got well done, disappointed. Service fine, but if you are going to pay $30 for a aged tender steak best if you get a chef that can cook it.

We were really excited when we saw that they have converted the old post office into a Bar & grill. We decided to go on a Tuesday night-the place was fully booked and we had to sit outside which wasn't too bad and will be really nice in summertime. The food arrived promptly despite the crowd of the place but the plate size was very disappointing.

I had a piece of salmon ( it was an end piece, thin & dry) supposedly coming with a dill rosti - I could not taste the dill and my wilted spinach was not wilted, it was raw. My husband had en eye fillet which was tiny and way overdone (he ordered medium rare) with a very small baked potato and the coleslaw did not taste any good-it was made with thousand island dressing. All in all very disappointing food experience.

Nice venue and good atmosphere however the food was not the best. Our orders were placed and then the entree's and mains arrived and were different to what we ordered and to top it off the Duty Manager defended the venue and stated we must have ordered incorrectly. They did replace one meal FOC as it was totally wrong. Won't visit again.
