I went to this restaurant just before Christmas to celebrate a special occasion.
While the food was excellent, I cannot say the same for the service. We found the senior staff to be very overbearing and pushy. During the course of the night this man and the staff seemed to become drunker and drunker and they continued to interfere with our evening by sitting at our table and slurring their words. Absolutely appalling behaviour for hosts in our opinion. Never will return there again.

Went here the other night for a celebratory dinner with my family, and it was great. The food was lovely and presented so nicely; the place just has great ambience: it's comfortable and so elegantly presented and beautiful; and the owners were so friendly and willing to help in any way possible.
Best dinner out I've had in a really long time.

Everything we were looking for when we popped up to the mountains last month, shame the weather wasn't up to scratch but that is not their fault! If you haven't tried french cuisine before, this is a good place to test it out, very friendly service too!

My husband and I recently visited the Hillcrest and were very surprised by the excellent service and hospitality provided by the hosts Christine and Wolf. The portion sizes were small but perfect for such rich food (anyone who wants big servings of French food needs their head read!) but it was the atmosphere that really impressed.
We were treated like royalty and nothing was too much trouble! So much so that we returned the next evening and enjoyed the same again, but this time with live music! I have never dined in a cosier atmosphere. We will definitely be back, it was the highlight of our trip.

I visited this Rrstaurant recently and was presented with a set menu that was advertised as a 5 course French meal. The portions were ridiculously small for the price, definitely not a 5 course meal in my opinion. Only good points were the table service and entertainment. I will not be going back. Too expensive for what it was.

I went there for a work Christmas party, Dec 2005, with a group of 20 people. The food was very expensive and for what we paid per head I thought we should have at least been given a choice of two dishes - we weren't - it was a set menu. When we arrived there was a selection of wines we were permitted to choose from. These were set out on a table in the dining room with no prices attached and were all very expensive- minimum $30 a bottle (as we discovered later when the bill came). Also there were bottles of water on our tables when we arrived. Since we did not order them, we assumed they were complimentary especially considering the hign cost of the meals. At the end of the night, we were charged $35 for water. I thought that was disgraceful. I would never go back there.

My partner and I enjoyed a perfect Valentine dinner at the Hillcrest Coachman! After ringing a vast array of restaurants in the Blue Mountains and enquiring as to whether they could prepare a vegan meal, the Hillcrest Coachman was the only restaurant prepared to accomodate our request. The Hillcrest's superb blend of ambience, entertainment, excellent service, absolutely divine, delightfully delicious food, ensured a perfect night. My partner and I spent two and a half hours at the restaurant enjoying a three course meal, (which tasted as if it had been designed by an artist rather than cooked by a chef) relaxing to live romantic jazz and feeling as if each waiter and the host, Wolfgang, were there just for us. It was a completly sublime night. There are few places that let you feel so taken care of and even fewer places that you can honestly walk out without finding even one tiny fault but the Hillcrest Coachman is most certainly oneof those places.

My fiance and I went here on a Saturday night! It was the best night! The food was perfect, the owners are lovely, and the entertainment was first class jazz! This is the kind of entertainment you pay money to go see and it was complimentary! Will be back for sure!!!! AAAA++++
