Ordered a coffee for me and a hot choc for my 5 yr old granddaughter in a "little cup" (her request, which I didn't consider a difficult one to grant) and paid. When it arrived in an adult sized cup I asked for a smaller cup (not a reduction in price}. The waitress snatched it back and in my earshot talked about me to the other waitress (who laughed loudly) and in front of 4 or 5 other customers. When I said to her I didn't think she should do that, she stuck her middle finger up and shouted "Up your a... with a prong". Not a good attitude. Not impressed! Not returning. (My granddaughter is still talking about the "rude ladies".)

We ordered 3 meals and they split it between the 3 -so we had 3 small portions each. Each dish was delicious! My favourite was the vegetable stack.

I love this cafe! My partner and I have made it our home away from the big smoke. We try to come up at least once a month to sink into the Stockmarket's truly wonderful space.
This space is pumping. The young waiter knows his food and his coffee, and he cranks out a glorious latte when he's on the machine. If he's not on the machine don't be disheartened, his mum (it's family run) makes one of the best coffee's going. The vibe is wonderful, they have fun, you can feel it, and you can taste the love and care in the food. They know their locals and their out of town regulars too, it's a nice change to the usual tourist trap in towns like these.
The music pumps, the coffee pours and the space jumps. It's an eclectic little hole in the wall that deserves to be set on a dais. The chef's french toast is other worldly, it's crispy and gooey and slathered in delectable real maple syrup! The center like custard contrasting brilliantly with the crispy bacon. The mushies are amazing, pile high on lively sourdough. I've never had better mushrooms anywhere, but get them with a side of haloumi and you are in heaven!
Lunch is on par with breakfast, I can never go past the soup, constantly changing yet always lovely, the last I had was a lame and fennel, so yummy! My man ate a haloumi and prosciutto salad which was something else, a brilliant marriage of flavours. Dessert? Anything baked there is worth a go, the pear and ginger cake is by far a stand out along with a lindt chocolate fudge, have both with ice cream.
The food, coffee, space and staff are great, it's really nice to be in a ridiculously rainbow friendly space, I'm not sure if they have straight staff but for myself and the boy this isn't an issue! The only problem I have is that it isn't bigger and they aren't open at night, so we never get to stay over and eat here more!

Truly outstanding. Really generous portion sizes, especially considering their prices. The average price for a meal would be about $18 which may seem expensive to some, but the food is fresh, high quality, expertly prepared and very beautifully served. The thick and solid wooden breakfast bar and tables are just beautiful, perfectly matched with the Leura environment. A lovely decorative (and practical) feature.
My experience, and what I view of all other customers I saw enter the cafe was an excellent high standard of customer service. These people are on the ball.
Their regulars (which are many) seem to glow when they enter this honest cafe. The staff greet them with obvious and true delight. This cafe has heart, has a soul, has joy.
But for the foodie, it's delicious, it's affordable, it's quite good value for money, it's fresh, expertly arranged, perhaps, the chef was an architect or artist...?
I highly recommend it if you are in the area.

Unfortunately, for Stock Market Cafe the quality of service, quality of food presentation, quality of coffee, and worth for money varies depending on whether or not one or both of the actual owners are there. Frankly the place is inconsistent.
About a fortnight ago I had breeakfast there, pancakes and berries, with vanilla bean yoghurt. It was beautiful. Presentatiuon was spot on, generous quantity, and of course the taste! The coffee was great too, as was the very casual but efficient service.
However, I was there this past weekend, encouraging my partner to have the pancakes. They arrived poorly presented, sunk deep in a bowl rather than a plate. The pancakes were more the size of pikelets, and the berry and yoghurt topping looked to be just slopped on top. A stary contrast to the previous fortnight. The coffee was weak and milky, and the water glasses were dirty.
Patrons want consistency. What I don't want is to have to check if the owners are there so to ensure quality, especially first thing on a weekend morning.

I had a similar experience to the last reviewer. The food is great and the menu is really unique. As much as I love a great breakfast there is just no way I could sit through another meal at this cafe. I couldn't believe how rude the staff were on the two occasions I ate there. There were no smiles or acknowledgements of anything I said and the food was slammed down on the table without a word. This is a popular cafe and always has good reviews but it has the worst service and ambience of anywhere I have ever eaten.

Food and coffee are excellent but we found the service very offhand to the point of rudeness. We certainly didn't feel welcome and even though the breakfast menu is amazing we won't return as we found the rude offhand service spoilt our experience. No point rewarding bad behaviour.
Highly recommend others around the corner where the warm welcome was such a contrast!

The food was very good, very fresh, but was terribly expensive for such simple food, but still I will go there again, the pleasant staff and great coffee makes up for it.

Came here a couple of weeks ago. The food was excellent and I've been craving the caramelized pumpkin salad I had ever since. I did think that it was a bit expensive, but then again everything in the Blue Mountains seems to be.
