After waiting 20 minutes for my order to be taken I approached the counter and asked if I could order. I was met with the reaction, "Oh no, not another one, God!" No apologies were offered. The waiter came over and took our order in a very aggressive manner. My $6 toast arrived cold and with a hair on it. Take aways and regulars always given preferential treatment. Never again.

Would I seem shallow if I said that I would frequent this establishment just to gaze at the chef? Yes? Oh well, I had better get serious, but not half as serious as the owners of this business need to get.
The food was good but took far too long to arrive at the table. The staff wander around aimlessly and lack direction. Seeing the chef stuffing his face during plate up churns my stomach and is unprofessional beyond belief.
In short, the above average food is not enough to get a recommendation.
12/20. Room for improvement. There are better options in Leura.

Stumbled across this cafe when looking for somewhere for an early lunch. At about 11.30am on a Tuesday morning, this place was packed. Having recently moved from Sydney, the vibe reminded me of many a cafe there, with a good menu and a variety of cafe types.
The food is slightly pricey, and wasn't a huge serve, but great quality and top service. My only complaint would be that their pile of reading matter was in the far corner and hard to get to when the place was full. I'll be back.

Since the new owners took over last year, this cafe has taken a complete dive in the quality of food, coffee and most noticeably, service and attitude to customers.
This morning we waited 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us or bothered to take our orders, despite 4 staff members walking past in that time. The table was filthy when the waitress laid out our cutlery in the midst of crumbs and spilled milk from the previous customers, and she had to be asked to wipe the table, which was done with a dirty cloth (food scraps flying off it) and a snippy attitude.
Another 15 minutes before the food arrived, and breakfast half-finished before we finally got our bog ordinary coffee. Omg, why would anyone bother to go there again?

The best coffee anywhere in the Blue Mountains! And the food is great too!

A table for 7, service friendly if a little distracted. The menu offered a good selection and variety. We all ordered something different and without exception the food was excellent - clear, clean flavours, well presented. And very good coffee. I don't know what the nay-sayers are talking about. Perhaps there are bad days - and that is unacceptable.

It took 15 minutes for waitress to take order. At the next table, waitress ignored a customer who was trying to get her attention Our coffees finally came but banana bread was cold.

Don't bother. My visit to Leura was almost ruined by breakfast at this overpriced cafe with rude staff. Ordered the baked eggs on the specials menu which was nothing more than canned tomatoes with a couple of eggs mixed through it, for the bargain price of $16. Yuck. Staff were rude, cafe is small and noisy. Coffee was nice but served luke warm. Waitress got the orders wrong and some of the dishes had to be sent back, after waiting for almost an hour for them! No apologies from anyone at the time we waited for our food. Next time I'll go somewhere else. At least the staff actually know how to smile there.

Was seated promptly with a table for 5 visitors, coffee/food order was taken 15 mins later. Coffee arrived after 15 mins, food took an additional 30 (ie an hour from being seated) with no mention/acknowledgement from staff. When a guest from the table followed up about where the food was, they weren't apologetic and in fact said 'it's not our fault'?
The food came out and 2 were taken back, the baked eggs on a third meal were described as having no seasoning, no dakkuh and were canned tomatoes (I'd recommended this dish). I was embarrassed I'd recommended Red Door to my friends, never again. The experience is the worst I've had in the blue mountains in the year I've lived here.

Food looked good but was so bland for most of us and 'extras' such as bacon, tomato etc were $4 a pop so expected them to be good but the bacon must have been sitting in the oven as it was uber dry and burnt to a crisp.
Service was friendly to start with but the waitress took 20 minutes to take our order then waited just under an hour for breakfast for 6 people. When I asked the staff for an ETA after waiting 40 minutes or so we were told it wasn't their fault but the person who ordered the baked eggs as they take 20 minutes to cook. Quite rude and not caring staff fed a family of 5 before us even though they arrived After we ordered! I asked for some coffees as remuneration for the inconvenience and he laughed at me in disgust then walked off!
No one ever apologised for anything either. We could hardly bring ourselves to pay the full bill.
