Amazing food. My partner and I were on holiday here from Sydney. He loved his pizza so much he is now planning to come back for a day trip.
Food is great, huge menu, warm friendly ambience. Mains are around the $20 mark, which given the quality of the food, is very reasonable. The service is lovely in that the wait staff are really nice and the manager is this awesome gregarious Italian guy, But don't come here if you're in a rush. We had entree main and dessert and were there about two and a half hours. Other than that, highly recommended.

Love this place. Its been there for years. Real Italian food. Hard to find. Huge menu. Full of flavour, fresh and hot. Had Lasagne and wife had steak. Best meal we have had in years. The locals are spoilt.

This has gotta be the best place for pizza in Katoomba, big pizza's with heaps of topping at a great price. I tried the vegetarian crepe and have fallen in love with it. As a long time local I've been to all the pizza places in Katoomba down to Blaxland, and Papa Dinos is in my top 3 places to go, the franchises = the worst especially Domino's.
Awesome for kids because they give them dough to play with while you wait for your meal.

The floors in need of a good clean, and the spag bol was gross, it was more water than meat, it had no tomato in it at all, I think they stuffed up, I went back years later and it was bad again, won't go here again, and most katoomba residents steer clear.

I love eating at Papa Dino's (or I did, before it was burnt out). Pasta was definitely my favorite option there. It was well cooked to order and always tasted fresh. I had the gluten free pasta and it was delicious! One particular dish I loved was the napolitana with meatballs. You could taste the freshness of the hand-made meatballs. It is a seriously good meal, not over priced and so much on the plate that I couldn't finish it!

The first time I came to Papa Dinos, I enjoyed the food. It was a cold night and the Pumpkin soup was delicious and so was the fillet mignion with mushroom sauce and vegetables. My husbands chicken marsala was also nice but a bit too creamy. The papa is a charming, warm and friendly man but, unfortunately, the people who work for him are cold and don't know their food. Then the last time I went back there and returned again, the food was horrible. The vegetarian pizza I ordered gave me a bad taste in my mouth that lasted for several days.
The greek salad was swimming in so much strong vinegar salad dressing that I could not eat it. My advice is to avoid the pizzas and stick to the hot main meals and they are only nice when cooked by the Papa himself but when he isn't there, its best not to eat here. The pizzas have way too many herbs and such a small amount of cheese that it makes it awful. The decor is totally dark and outdated and they constantly have a loud radio playing in the background. Its not a nice atmosphere to eat a meal in and the food is unreliable so I would rather avoid eating there again.

Upon sitting down we first noticed the tables had more grease on the tiled surface than inside their range hood. The build up of dirt under the tables and any corner you care to look at had months if accumulated food left overs. Needless to say we were now worried about the food we just ordered. The uneasy feeling was validated moments later when we watched the still aproned kitchen staff walk back inside after smoking a cigarette at the 'front door', walk straight over to the open plan kitchen and resume making pizzas with no attempt at washing his hands. Simply no pride.

I love this place, Papa Dinos rocks! Next week it will be our fourth year in a row (to visit the blue mts) we normally stay for two nights and each night we have to eat at Papa Dinos. We get a Cheeky Little Red from the bottlo next door and we have no problem with waiting for a table because it is well worth the wait. The atmosphere is great and my partner and I call it "our" restaurant as we dined at Papa Dino's on our very first weekend away together.

So the decor is a little Italian/Australian 70's kitsch with loads of rippled stucco, the music is The Beatles when the old man is in and alternative when the young guys are at the counter, menu is a well worn plastic laminated piece and you order yourself at the counter. Serve your own water and watch out for the Katoomba chill when the front door is opened!
If you're lucky you might get matching wine glasses for the wine you picked up at the art gallery cum bottlo next door. That's the charm of the place. The food is great, one of my favourite places in the mountains. Good Italian slow food. Pizza being the specialty with home made pasta and good veal and chicken dishes as well. Friendly albeit sometimes scattered service from a young wait staff.
When Papa is in the service is personal, warm and friendly.
