We found this gem of a place on a quiet saturday night after a day of walking in the blue mountains with our baby and very overtired and whingy toddler. It was unexpectedly child friendly with lots of toys and a very friendly owner with a white beard who our boy decided to call "Father Christmas of the restaurant!" I have to say Father Christmas was a complete star and fully entertained our child for a long time after he stopped eating.
Also there was a fab live jazz band playing which made the atmosphere so pleasant and apparently this is a semi-regular thing. The food was generously portioned with lots of tasty veggies and on the mild side, so perfect if you want to bring kids. I have to say it was an unexpectedly memorable and very pleasant evening. Thank you!

Ended up eating here because other restaurants in Katoomba were booked out. I really wish we'd made a booking in any other restaurant. This one was awful, the worst Thai food I've ever had. The starters were double-fried, burned, dry and tasteless.
The mains were bland with very little meat and no spice at all. Really uninspiring, boring food. The décor was dated. There were only about two other tables occupied. The staff never asked us if we were enjoying the meal. The only positive thing was the good value house red and the live jazz duo. Everything else was terrible.

The whole experience was more than disappointing, there was no atmosphere but we put this down to it being after the lunch time rush. First they got our wine order wrong and were pretty rude when we asked for the right bottle of wine instead (this is why most restaurants get someone to taste the wine instead of just dumping it on your table). The starters were ok, (but then how can you go wrong - all were either deep fried or ready made and put in the oven).
The mains were the worst I have ever had put in front of me at a restaurant. We ordered a green curry, panang curry, beef stir fry and a Laska. Flavour was non existent, although all tasted heavily of fish, two of the three were cold, all vegetables were floppy and noodles in the Laska were burnt and stuck together.
No-one ate anything (infact we went and got subway after), we went to the counter to pay and express our disappointment and explain what was wrong with the food and how nothing met our expectations and again were met with flipancy and made to pay the full bill.
Having traveled the world, eaten in many restaurants and knowing how good Thai food tastes this is the worst dining experience I have ever had.

Me and my husband ate here and were extremely disappointed. We love thai food and have been to many thai restaurants and this has to be the worst we have ever been to. The panang curry had chunks of curdled coconut milk and was flavourless. The pad see ew was terrible - the noodles weren't cooked properly, they were hard and chewy and the flavour was awful and vegetables were raw. We could only have a couple bites of each dish and had to complain. When we expressed our complaints (politely) to the manager she was extremely rude and nearly knocked the panang curry in my husbands lap. When we explained what was wrong with the food she and the waitress rolled their eyes at each other and said its most likely a "cultural difference" because we were filipino. Very unpleasant night out. only good thing was they did not charge us for our food as we did not eat it.

Glad we had our coats, it was cool inside. Waitress forgot to put our candle on and could not understand my request for "today's specials". Music was a harp and guitar, good, but odd for a Thai restaurant. Massaman Beef was good. Chicken Laksa was sub-standard as the meat was tasteless, perhaps, over-boilded?

Our party of six ate here on a cold Friday night. The restaurant lacks atmosphere and was a little drafty but overall ok. The waitress let us move away from the table near the door. The servings were generous and tasty. Lots of choice for the vegetarians which is great. Service prompt.

Travelled to Blue Mountains from Sydney for the Easter weekend. Overall the food was quite good. The serving sizes and amount of chicken in the soup and stir fry main meal were generous. Fairly humble settings, not quite the expensive fitouts we are used to seeing in Sydney. It was a quiet night, and the staff sit around in the middle of the restaurant when they weren't busy, which is not a good look.
One of the girls sitting there decided it was a good time to select a ring tone for her mobile phone. If she had done it on low volume, I wouldn't have minded so much, but it was very loud and I couldn't continue the conversation I was having. I just shook my head when I realised that yes, she was going to go through and listen to every single ring tone. I would have said something but we were just about finished.

This restaurant is etched in my top five eats out. Located downstairs away from busy Katoomba St your belly will be so satisfied you'll want to pitch a tent! I'm always greeted with a friendly chat and welcomed into the very inviting atmosphere for what is always great, authentic feast.
The Massaman beef curry is delicious! It rates with the best I've had over in Thailand. The chef is from northern Thailand which I think is the best area of Thailand for delicious food. Best of all, the staff there are treated like family and it shows in the quality of the menu and service.
The first time I went a local musician was setting a great beat on a small stage at the front of the place. It has potential for some good events and functions. Cool booth-style seating is also a plus. Great pricing.
I highly recommend it. Take a group of friends and keep posted for the live music nights.

Food was very average. Not disgusting but pretty boring. We got takeaway so can't comment on service in the restaurant or ambience but it was pretty empty when we picked up on Saturday night. Green chicken curry was strange and beef massaman way dry with too much potato. Best of the bad bunch in Katoomba.
