I had the best hot chocolate ever there and was fortunate that there were no issues with the candle blowing out on the day. Must agree with everyone though, the service was appalling! What a shame, the experience could have been so much better. I struggle to understand how business basics such as building relationships is completely ignored.

Ordered a hot chocolate and some of the assorted chocolates. I didn't realise when paying that she hadn't charged me for the drink, and so I went and sat, patiently waiting for it to arrive. Said drink never came. By the time we figured out the error, we'd scoffed the (pretty good) chocolates and decided not to bother going back to order again.
Service obviously isn't their strong suit. The woman who served me lacked the 'niceties' of service. (Not to mention the basics of taking an order!) Having said that, the room of chocolate is fun to explore.

The "real" hot chocolate was absolutely perfect. I have never had a better hot chocolate in my life.

The "Real Hot chocolate" was luke warm at best. Candle kept blowing out in the wind (despite doing all I could not to have it blown out). But even with the candle, it wasn't enough to keep the hot chocolate hot anyway. Chocolate tastes nice though. Ended up taking the remaining chocolate buttons home (and bought some extras, $4.95/100 g) to make my own hot chocolate at home, with hot milk.

We ordered 2 hot chocolates for my daughters, there were no tables inside so we had to eat outside. The candles used to heat the milk went out twice so the girls ended up drinking the milk and eating the chocolate. My wife had an iced chocolate, this was more ice than chocolate. I had a cup of Earl Grey, which was made with a You'll Love Coles Tea Bag. All this cost $20.85. We definitely won't be returning there.

This shop was very popular and many people came in and out. We didn't have time to stay and have one of their hot chocolates, however, purchased a selection of chocolate which was very very nice, until I took another bite, chewed and found a staple inside the chocolate (orange peel chocolate). I'm so glad I didn't swallow that!
Obviously a mistake, but could have turned out quite badly. Nevertheless, their chocolate has been taken off my list forever!

The lady who appears to own/run this cafe was rather blunt in her service. Ordered 2 coffees and 2 Cheese cakes and were asked to pay at the counter where we ordered, no problem. We then waited as she blatantly pointed to a stack of table numbers and told us to take one with us, that is to say, find your own table. Even in a high traffic tourist area you’d think an operator would be trying to build a rapport. Either that or you just have to rely on the typical passing trade every weekend, not caring whether anyone returns or not. As a local, I find this irritating, and as any local knows.....Word travels fast in the Blue Mtns.
We took a seat at a shaky, grotty looking table, evidently not cleaned since the last customers and no-one bothered to wipe it down once we sat. In fact the whole time we were there I didn’t witness one table being cleaned in between customers. Makes you dread what the kitchen looks like if you’re willing to portray the dining room in such a state.
Ok, one more pet hate. When food/drinks are delivered to your table it’s advisable for staff to ask customers who ordered what, and place it in front of them, we were 2 people, not a large group for Heaven’s sake. Instead the lady, without a word, plonked down the coffee’s and cakes at the other side of the table. I don’t expect silver service from a Cafe’ but this is just pure etiquette that you place dishes within someone’s reach at the very least.
The Coffee was good; the Cheesecakes were ho-hum despite how enticing they looked. Would possibly return for a takeaway coffee only because I refuse to pay extra for the privilege of shoddy service, and would have a better ambience drinking it in my car.
