    Not child friendly!

Took my two sons here for breakky this morning. It had a lovely atmosphere and the food was great until we noticed a couple of 'sour' patrons and one staffer who did not appreciate the noise they made.

Children are sometimes unpredictable so they were a little rowdier than I would have liked too but still nothing considered unacceptable by anyone with enough internal joy to consider it normal and tolerable and go about their own business.

When I was told at the counter while paying it was not appreciated, I might have mentioned my own disappointed that my coffee was forgotten, we were not offered water, and my son was never given a plate for his meal after we asked for it but I was tolerant enough to cut them some slack and focus on enjoying all the good things.

Sadly we won't be back as it was not welcoming which simply left a bad taste in my mouth.

Staff are horrible, do Not visit this cafe until the waitresses learn some basic customer service.

Love the Blue Hour! I'm a local and this place is my regular. Not many cafe's can make a long black as perfect as this place. The owner is a delight, the food is great and the service is excellent. Yes it's small, but that simply means you can't get lost or be forgotten.

Not many spaces to sit in this tiny little cafe, but the food, the beer and the coffee is worth it! My wife and I went there three times in two days, we were so impressed after the first visit. Had some tapas, chicken salad, penne carbonara and a chicken burger. Top that off with Belgian, Czech or German beer (the kind of drinks you usually have to go to the Belgian or Bavarian Beer Cafe's for). And finish with Morgan's organic coffee. Good value, good service, a fantastic Blue Mountains cafe that would fit in just as well in the middle of Newtown.

We went to the mountains for the easter long weekend, and with terrible weather and lots of places closed, it was a godsend to find this cute little place. Struggled to get a seat inside for a while, but we persisted and weren't disappointed once we did. We both ordered the minced beef burgers, and wow! Once we saw them come out we were a little disappointed, they looked tiny and came with a garden of green salad leaves and balsamic.

As neither of us particularly like balsamic, we were horrified. The burgers were too big to eat with our hands, so we attacked them with a knife and fork, and mixed in those salad leaves. What a delight! The balsamic was sweet and not overpowering, the burger was delicious, the caramelised onion, melted cheese, aoli, eggs ... oh my. I wish we didn't live so far away, I'd go back for another one today.

The only real let down was the lack of drinks available on the menu. Most beers were sold out on the day, only leaving one or two options. As the weather was so bad outside, we were in no rush to move on, so worked our way through what was available.

I also wasn't leaving without trying the chocolate banana pudding with icecream. Yes, I left a little more chubby then when I arrived, but we had a lovely time. The staff were friendly and attentive, and happy to be there.
Will definitely return next time we're in Katoomba. Highly recommend for a fun little bite to eat.

Went to Blue Hour on a Sat morning for coffee and ended up staying for a sandwich. BLT sandwich with salad was excellent and coffee OK but the service was very slow. It was only moderately busy so maybe they need more kitchen staff.

Terrible food, really greasy and it was a salad?!. When I complained they refused to change it because they said they hadn't added any oil. I believe them but just worry for the state of their pans and kitchen equipment if that is the case! My partner also had a fairly greasy sandwich(?!) Coffee Ok although they forgot one of our orders. Service quite poor desipte being very quiet. Not a good pick when there are so many other cafes around...good luck.

As a local, I have been going to the Blue Hour for about 3 years and have always had great service and great coffee, until recently. In two separate occasions, I have waited over 15 minutes to be served while sitting outside. This has been when the cafe is not busy and the new waitresses are chatting away inside.

Lift your game Blue Hour, there are a lot of cafes in Katoomba and support your local clientele!

Nice coffee, interesting food. Having been a regular at this cafe for a number of years, coffee and food most weekends, I need to make a disparaging remark about the service of late. The service has really gone downhill in the last couple of months, with the waitresses regarding custom poorly. The time migh it takes to get served, with a menu, and then with coffees and food once ordered. Today, I went as far as to complain directly to the owner, as the service today was below appalling, from the wait staff. Having sat out front, in the usual spot, a waitress served the other outside table not once, but twice, failing to ask or offer a menu on each trip. and had they been busy, this then would have been excused. However, the cafe was not it's usual busy self at all. After more than 20 mins, I lodged my complaint. This Cafe needs to definitely lift it's game, considering the competition of good Cafes in Katoomba

This is a really cute little place with good, quality food. The menu is extensive and has an option for all tastes and desires. All the food is really wholesome and you leave feeling satisfied and full of energy. I love the rye bread they have here and the quiet, comfortable nook by the window.
