Excellent, our party thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend it highly. The spring rolls were superb and the desserts - to die for !! Will be back.

Awful dining experience. Service slow and unfriendly. 1 hour and 1/2 wait fo our meals. Ordered the lamb RARE and we got it well done. Bad experience. Wont be going back!

We reserved for a group of 7 on a Saturday night and while the ambience was great, I've never had such awful service. Our waitress was young and pleasant, and we almost never saw her. It took three hours to be served a main and a dessert - no starters or coffee. When our meal finally arrived, 5 out of 7 people were served, with a 10 minute gap before the other two received their food. One party member had lamb, which was dry and overdone - perhaps it had been sitting under lights. We were foolish to order dessert - it just prolonged our agony. We couldn't get anyone to bring us our cheque, and then to finally take our credit card. The food was fine - we probably would feel better about it if it had arrived on time. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant on a bet, which is a shame because the location and decor and good. A real ordeal.

The charming, quirky, Art Deco interior creates a lovely atmosphere and the option of small or large portion sizes for many dishes was a great idea that we took advatage of. The food was satisfying and good value, if a little unadventurous, and the service could have been better. We were forgotten a couple of times and were served by several different people, but overall it was a pleasant experience.

Great atmosphere and view, with fabulous artworks. The food is good, bordering on enjoyable home cooking with great desserts. Friendly service apart from one surly waitress who unfortunately tainted our first, highly anticipated visit to Avalon - but we will return!

One of my all time favourite restaurants. Some mains and desserts come in small and large sizes to suit differnt appetites, all are reasonably priced (under $25) and are presented on mis-matched antique crockery. Charming interior, with lovely staff and background music. The licorice cheesecake is to die for and seats by the window are the best in the house.

We've loved this restaurant for years. So much so, in fact, that we had lunch here with our families after our wedding. A fantastic place to celebrate with food of fantastic quality, all for about $60 per head for the lot.

Set in an old theatre this is such a find, kitsch chic. Great food, value and service. A sensibly priced wine list with a great selection. Their cheese platter is superb. We'll be back.
