This is a great restaurant with fantastic food and offers great value it is the finest indian food I have had, we ordered a mixed tandoori entree and a garlic naan and to my surprise I felt like I was back time eating food with my grandmom the spices are fragrant and delicious and the naans were special huge and soft and yummy.
For our mains we ordered a butterchicken which was like eating velvet it was buttery smooth and delicious all I could say mmmmm!! so delicious and we also tried the tandoori prawns and they were the best just rightly spiced and tasty. Indian food does not have to be hot and spicy in all aspects it is all about delicious flavours and quality and I found it all in this restaurant.

Food was horrendous all cooked in the same tomato gravy with sugar and cream no flavour. Guys Indian food is not of this taste.

Lovely warm ambience on a chilly night although a lunch would be nice to appreciate the view. This place really exceeded our expectations. The service was impecable despite being packed on the Friday night of the long weekend. The food was excellent - succulent, delicately spiced and fragrant. Reasonable value for money given the standard of food, BYO and minimal corkage. We'll definitely be back and will be recommending to all our visitors in the Blue Mountains.

This is a fab restaurant, walk in and you will experience the delicious flavours first with your nose then the welcoming smiles of the staff and the owner once seated the service is very prompt. We had a lovely table by the window looking over the valley and there were colourful lamps on all the tables made me feel like I was celebrating the festival of lights back home.
The food was spot on and just like my moms cooking. This is one restaurant I know my mom could not criticise. I give them 100/100. Good job to all the staff and the chefs.

It was a very cold and wet weekend and having dinner at this wonderful warm and welcoming restaurant seemed like coming home, the food was superb and the best feeling is when you are greeted with a pleasant smile. Some how when I walked into this place iI felt so relaxed and comfortable that the rest of the evening seemed satisfying, the food was great and the naans are the freshly cooked to order just like all the food is we watched the chef who is also the owner cook up a feast and it was all delicious.
Three cheers to all the staff and the management keep up your great effort. Will come to dine again, thanks for the lovely night.

A second visit proved to be a disappointment. The Tandoori prawns were not as good and with a $25 price tag, not good value. The sauces were lackluster and the roti was too thick and tasted half-baked. A very average meal.
Pleasant surprise in Katoomba. Starters are a bit on a small side but the mains more than compensate in size. Tandoori prawns are to die for. Breads are good too (although not very authentic). Service was good despite the restaurant being full to capacity (a combination of a weekend and mother day). Prices are very reasonable and it's BYO too.

I have eaten at Arjuna a number of times but both the food and the service have deteriorated. Last time our party of four had to stand downstairs between tables for a full 30 minutes waiting for our upstairs table which was booked days before. I felt as annoyed for the people whose meal we were spoiling as I did for our wait.
The food that night was ordinary and the service just, a great disappointment on what we'd had on previous visits and when I presented a Visa card at the end I was told there would be a surcharge although this was not mentioned on the menu or on the bill. I was directed to a small notice on the wall a metre or more behind the cash register and told that a surcharge to recover bank fees was a very normal thing, well maybe on Planet Arjuna!
I love Indian food and I love the Mountains but Arjuna is off my list.

Have not been to any other Indian restaurants in the mountains but this place was not too bad.
We got the mixed entree which had some aweful tasting fish but the rest was ok. For mains we then got a Beef, Lamb and prawn dish. All of these were quite tasty and satisfied without being Wow food.
It is old inside and quite dull, maybe better for a lunch where you could sit outside. And as for service it was almost non existent. Had to ask for water, and then when ready to go (last ones in the restaurant) we asked for our bill. And with staff just standing around talking we got up after about 15 minutes and just went to the counter.
Value at nearly $100 for what we got is more expensive than a lot of better quality Indian places in the city, so not that great. Overall if you need an indian fix while in the mountains it will satisfy, just don't expect anything too flash.

Sorry, but where can you buy lamb chops (decent lamb) as cheap as $9 a kilo? Arjunas has amazing food, best Indian I've ever had and one of the best places I've been! The only bad thing I can say about them is that they're closed Tuesday, pay day! Also, a weekend surcharge of 10%, while annoying, is quite common for many cafes, restaurants and bistros.

Had the misfortune to eat at this restaurant on 8/01/11. The service was appalling. I requested the Tandoori Lamb Cutlets and was served Lamb chops smothered in Tandoori paste, probably to disguise the cheap cut of meat. For this, I was charged the premium price of $20 for 4 very fatty chops, meat that retails at about $9 a kilo. The naans and vindaloo were pathetic. Save your money.
