One of my favourite dumplings places, imagine lining up for a table on a monday night?! Go figure, but high quality dumplings and dim sum dishes. The waiters need to learn english as just because I am of Asian ethnicity doesn't mean i automatically speak mandarin, Oh well, I will definitely be back!

This new restaurant has made a great start. Yang, in his uniform, provided very commendable service to our group of seven. Those who have been to Shanghai will immediately recognise the poster prints on the walls of the classic buildings.

Food was plentiful and very good according to our group of Europeans born in Shanghai. The cost was a pleasant surprise. And the ladies in the window making dumplings for everyone to see, is a clever innovation. We intend to go there on a regular monthly basis.

Just used my scoupon here for takeaway dumplings. Wow, they really were fantastic! I had the pork and spinach dumplings in broth. They were really big and I couldn't even finish the meal. Normally this goes for about $10, so excellent value. The restaurant is Very casual, which is what you expect from a dumpling place. It's not somewhere I would go to "dine out" but I know where I'll be going when I want dumplings.

The place is immaculate and stringently clean. The waitress cleaned up the condiment bar 3 times while I was there and I was there for only about ten minutes. Great takeaway spot or a place to drop into for a casual feed.

Food was okay, you're better off at Shanghai Night or New Shanghai if they have seats. Dumplings: okay but not great. Drunken chicken a little bitter. Beef Brisket Noodle Soup was weird tasting.

Waitress was one of those pushy types who continually offer unwanted suggestions. Seating against the wall was a long bench set into the wall that was too narrow where foundations popped out of the wall. The dumpling making window at the front was pretty cool and it's a nice, clean setup.

The food here is fantastic, tastes delicious and fresh - and even the way the dishes are presented is impressive. The knowledgeable staff always make a great effort to accommodate those with food allergies - I've been surprised how often they've been able to conjure up a gluten-free version of their tastiest dishes. Just ask them! The prices appear to have slightly increased recently at this well-kept secret spot in Ashfield but the quality and quantity make it worthwhile.

I Love my Japanese food. I guess for a small Japanese restaurant tucked away in Ashfield this place is Ok, but compared to many other Japanese fair in town and for authentic/worthy Japanese food in general, this place is average at best.

I had the mini pork ramen set with mixed sashimi and sushi. The ramen was Ok, a little bland. The sushi and sashimi was pretty poor, with some of the off cuts used for the sashimi.

Service was a little scattered albeit pleasant enough. I am not from the area so I personally would not go back, but if you are a local, this place is Ok if you need a ramen fix.

Good xiao long bao. Yummy! Don't expect much for service and ambience. There were 8 of us and we only spent less than $11 (after using an Entertainment voucher).

We tried the sushi train as it is cheaper on sundays. $3 a dish. No complaints about the food but the service was almost non existent. Only one person taking your sushi order who seemed to be busy clearing tables and we had to go and get her for service. (there was very little on the train to choose from). We ordered several dishes. The only waiter got things mixed up and we were given items that we did not order and others which were for someone else, perhaps?

Despite her writing everything down she still managed to get confused. The wait for the food was far too long. It was a very very quiet sunday night and there were plenty of staff in the kitchen. So why the long wait. We normally eat twice the number of dishes when we eat at sush trains but with the ultra slow service, we decided that we spent too much time waiting for the food to arrive.

The variety was okay but not as many dishes as other sushi trains we have been to for the same price. We will return as the price is worth it on Sundays. Let us hope the service improves substantially. I would hate to see them when they are busy.

We ate here again for the second time this week. The food is always fresh and beautifully prepared. It's simple home style Mexican food packed with flavour. They always welcome our 4 months old baby and nothing is ever a problem. I cannot recommend New Tico Ashfield enough.

Used a voucher to dine here for lunch. Had the all you can eat sushi train option over the entree, main option and it was fantastic. We were given the ice cream dessert as well. Service was great considering we ate at lunch and there was a huge 20+ group function on that day. Pleasantly surprised and a good experience. Reasonably priced too. Would dine here again.

Terrible Sunday roast! It was way too salty and tasted more like eating salty ham. York shire pudding did not come with the roast, we had to ask for it and when it came it was burnt.

My wife and I have been regulars at this restaurant since it opened and strongly recommend it. We have tried just about everything on the menu and have found all of the dishes to be very well cooked and presented. The staff are always absolutely lovely and they make our small child feel particularly welcome.

Like coming here for Robbie's trivia on a Wed night and there are a couple of really good bar staff. It's a shame about the food though. I think they've tried to achieve something with the new menu, but it falls flat. It is missing a few key options for a pub menu, and the dishes that sound great are let down by the delivery.

E.g. I have learned not to order anything that involves bacon, as, unfortunately, they just do not cook it enough and there is nothing worse that not quite cooked bacon.

Unfortunately, this counts out having bacon on your burger (On that note $2 extra for bacon on a burger is reasonable. Another $2 for a slice of cheese or any other "extra" is outrageous!), or ordering the chicken caesar salad, which is let down anyway by being drowned in too much horrible dressing.

At these prices, lift the quality! The burgers are nice (if you don't get bacon) and they make great, thick cut chips, although pretty stingy with them.

However, I think it would be good to include a couple of pub standards on the menu, such as bangers and mash and a battered fish and chips with tartare and salad. The salmon dish on the menu sounds a lot better than it actually is, which is disappointing. There just aren't many decent options if you don't want a burger.

It's a real shame here, but I think they could improve it with a little bit of effort. Hopefully someone there reads these comments as we like going there, and would go more often if the food was better.

Also, bring back better wine options by the glass please. They've changed for the worse!

Will definitely be eating/drinking here again, was particularly impressed by management in the front bar during the footy on Friday night. Managed to keep the rowdy locals under control... kudos to you. 2 thumbs up!

Food was ok (still can't beat Chinatown dumplings). The price was alright for the serve but the service was terrible. This place discriminates against anyone that isn't Chinese! We ordered four dishes and over a span of two hours received one dish at a time. I place was half empty. The thing that really ticked me and my friends was the fact that several Chinese families came in got all of there food and were out within 30-45 minutes and we were still waiting on our second dish. We were ignored and when we asked for it to all come out nothing happened. When we did get a dish it was average and not very warm. My friend questioned them why they were serving our tables faster and we got a "aw sorry". Really felt we were discriminated against as we weren't Chinese nor spoke Chinese. Will not be going back here again.

This place gives me the creeps. It's located opposite Ashfield station but it is dark at night. The gym is split over 2 floors so not overly convenient. At least the walls and ceiling are painted white so inside in bright.

I didn't even bother working out here. I got back into the car and drove to another branch.

Often come here with family for a tasty and cheap lunch. Pretty much always get pan fried dumplings and xiao long bao. Service is pretty bad, but hey, I come for the food!
