Had a nice night here, the best part was the waitress removing the cost of the onion rings we hadn't eaten from our final bill.

To start with, we were originally going to be sitting on a table for two beside the upper level. A table not really conducive to romance. Then a table was noted to be free, a four, by the window, but, says the gentleman waiter "Should we waste that?". I'm standing right there! Yes you should waste it moron, we like to spend money when we go out!

Anyway, got the table, got our meals and had a nice time. The steaks really are cooked to perfection. Hubby had rump, moi, the fillet mignon. Both perfect. When clearing our meals the waitress commented on the onion rings being intact. I explained about my gall bladder surgery, so anything with batter has a sad side effect about an hour later and she kindly removed it from our bill! Would we go back again ... yep!

For a pub that prides itself on steak, it can be a little inconsistent. We have been here several times in the past 3 months. Sometimes the steaks are perfect sometimes they are not cooked as requested. One of our crew was served a "well done" that bled ! She won't go back as a result, however, the rest of us still return.

The value is Ok when you are on a travel budget. The non steak meals, fish, pork chop etc are good value and very nice. We all agree on one thing, the ribs are atrocious, not since spare rib rack, but a great slab of thick bone and fatty meat. Never again. Other wise, its an Ok place.

Best beef ribs we have ever had. My partner and I shared the 1 kg beef ribs. It arrived in a massive plate and we didn't think we'd finish it all but we did. Bbq sauce was tangy, not sweet and sickening like most other places.

Steak was so good my fussy husband liked it. Chicken salad so delicious, melt in the mouth, taste amazing.

Four of us all enjoyed our meal and drinks in the dining room. My filet Mignon was cooked to perfection. Another diner ordered bangers and mash (but what could you do wrong with that lol). The chicken breast was considered tasty by our late teen female (not an easy task). A little pricy but set in a good location close to the Festival and Fringe events and shopping. Great cider and beer and a satisfactory wine list. I will go again.

Stopped here for a cold beer and lunch after noticing their Voted Worst Vegetarian Restaurant banner. Unfortunately, the beef/steaks they are promoting so heavily are their biggest downfall. Ordered hamburgers with salad tastier than their beef patty. The best part of the burger was the bun and salad. Patty was dry, tasteless and incredibly boring. Very disappointing, such a letdown after all their wasted marketing hype. Even though pub atmosphere was great and beers terrific, we won't be back.
