The food overall was very good - not the best Greek food in Adelaide but still acceptable. I was disappointed to find that there was no lamb souvlaki on the menu. I know they may say that lamb is not widely available in Greece but in Australia it still is one of the most popular greek dishes. The service was very good but I found the wine list quite poor.

Platia is a great Greek restaurant. Service is excellent, wine list very strong and the food - oo! Prices are a tad steep but the serve sizes won't leave you hungry (quite the opposite!). The only quibble was the noise level, which was truly abominable. All hard floors and glass left me quite pleased that our table of three wasn't any larger, else I wouldn't have heard a word...

Not so much a Greek restaurant but a noisy Italian style cafe, almost Fasta Pastarish, with a Greek menu. The interior is open with tables packed in tight and a ceramic tiled floor rendering it incredibly noisy. Initially we had trouble hearing each other but by half way through the night I admit we had adjusted and the noise wasn't an issue, I guess we just became as noisy as everyone else. More than once we accidentally elbowed waiting staff as they passed by our table due to the cramped nature of the table settings.

They seemed used to that. Others at our table had seafood dishes and expressed their satisfaction, rating at about 8/10. My first choice of entree was off the list that night. My first choice for main course was also off the list, so I guess that's why I wasn't much excited by the food, although it wasn't poor by any means. I watched other diners who were participating in the large platters of various types and not one was taken back empty, although I don't of course know whether that means there was too much food or not enough liking.

The staff were very friendly and mostly attentive throughout the night, although a couple of times we struggled to have our drinks replenished. Certainly couldn't complain about the value at $40 a head including BYO wine corkage, soft drinks and coffee. It's worth a try if you're into the cafe style of atmosphere.
