Delightful tapas and pizza place. Lovely ambience, really comfortable chairs, and delicious food. My only complaint would be that the waitstaff need a bit of prompting, and that $10 for a Knappstein or Vale Ale is a bit rich.

Had dinner there with friends when visiting Adelaide. I loved the atmosphere... authentic and trendy all at once. The waitress was nice and helpful but the service a bit slow on a busy Friday night. I was a bit disappointed that our tapas came one after the other rather than 2 or 3 at a time. The pork belly, bean ragout and mushroom tapas were delicious. The chicken and rabbit paella was good but not the best I've had.

Came here for a late lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant wasn't pack at that time, probably only had 3 or 4 other tables. Unfortunately, one waiter was tied up trying to prepare coffee for the others and another seem more interested in chatting with some of the patrons than attend to us. So, we were left on our own for a while, even to the extent of us getting our own menu after waiting for 10 minutes for one. Service was certainly lacking.
Service aside, the ambience is quite nice. We ordered 4 tapas: smoked ocean trout, goat cheese with quince jelly, garlic prawns and beef cheek. The highlight is probably the beef cheek, which was tender, tasty and sitting nicely on soft yummy potato puree.
Hopefully they can improve their service to match their food.

Visited Mesa Lunga tonight and was very impressed. Ordered about 6 tapas between my wife and I and all very good. The best were the croquettes and the pork belly. Shared a paella for main course and this was tasty although I don't like cockles and the mussells were not totally fresh. Will definitely go back.

I really loved this restaurant. I went with a friend who had been with her husband previously. She is gluten intolerant and loved the paella. I had some tapas and loved the food. The cocktails were fantastic and I found the service very good. I will be going back again.

I have been past Mesa Lunga many times and its looks wonderful, early last saturday night my partner and I took refuge from heavy rain and thought we would try it out. We planned on having a couple of drinks here but whilst waiting at the bar for service we were approached by a staff who seemed to be looking after the restaurant area, she was rude and arrogant and spoke to us like we were trash after spotting a bag of spring rolls we had picked up from china town.
No we were not eating but half of this place is a bar and we were definitely planning on drinking. The tapas area was empty, although we were informed it was fully booked and after spending $30 on a beer and a poorly made cocktail (all fancy moves no quality in the final result) we left extremely disappointed. I manage a bar and restaurant in Hahndorf and was horrified at the potential being squandered by the staff in this place.

We've been to Mesa Lunga 3 times and this is the first time we have rated this restaurant on Eatability. The main reason for Not rating it earlier being the appalling service. We found the wait staff arrogant and patronising on each occasion.
The first time we thought we might have got the staff on a bad night. The second night was a Saturday night and they were very busy. The third time was a Wednesday night and they weren't overly busy so no excuse for the arrogant and patronising behaviour. The most irritating experience was when we orderd 4 tapas dishes between 3 of us. We had every intention of ordering more once we had eaten these.
However, we were told we hadn't ordered enough and we would leave 'starving' if we didn't order more. We mentioned that we just wanted to start with the 4 dishes then see what we felt like after that, it's a tapas bar after all! This was met with rolling of the eyes and a surly 'Ok'. On a positive not we loved the food, just a shame the waiters don't make you feel welcome.

Has all the promise and little of the delivery. Service is poor and forgetful, the drinks nothing special like most places around Adelaide, a reasonable wine list is available, but in particular the Sangria is hopeless, there is nothing Spanish about it other than the name. We had an ok, but very noisy night. The company was the highlight and everything else very 'so so'. With all of the restaurant choice in Adelaide I don't know why anyone would visit Mesa Lunga twice.
