My wife and I spent a wonderful sunday afternoon sitting outside enjoying the amazing views. The food was to die for and the service was friendly and very quick, we will look forward to enjoying lots more afternoons at Marino rocks, thankyou very much.

Straight off the bat, our experience was disgusting. I won't go into minor details but instead outline the key factors of why our night was terrible. We ordered a seafood platter and some drinks. We took $130 to cover the night.

The bad points:
- Service was terrible. The woman obviously had next to no training nor understanding in customer service. She couldn't even set cutlery correctly.
- The cutlery hadn't been cleaned properly.
- To get to the restaurant section, you had to walk through the cafe which had the kitchen on display where the chefs were "cranking" hip-hop music.
- There was no music playing inside the restaurant, only a little speaker outside was playing some off-atmospheric tunes. Ambiance was terrible.
- The seafood platter was a joke! For $90 we got a selection of fried seafood all piled on one plate. I'm not exaggerating when I say the quality of seafood is better at Barnacle Bills. It was all frozen crap that had been thrown into a deep fryer. It was appalling. The scallops were cold also.
- The restaurant itself was crap. It was clearly a home once upon a time and they've done a very average job making it into a restaurant.

All in all, this place is awful. Avoid at all means.

Note: This review sounds like its coming from an old whinging couple, but its not. We're both 20 and we just appreciate good service and food, which this was not.

I was looking forward to going to Marino Rocks for dinner for my birthday for a month now. I made a booking four weeks in advance for a table of 11 for my birthday. They call me 1 hr before I was due to arrive asking what time we would leave as they wanted to close at 8 pm. Talk about kicking us out before we even got there. If there was an issue with the 6.30 pm time I booked this should have been discussed 4 weeks prior when I booked.

After much angry and offense we did end up dining there to our dismay the waiter tells us they have been busy this week and there was no steak, no garfish and only one serve of chops left. Busy or not they were fully aware of us all coming 4 weeks ago. Way to not be prepared. To add insult to injury they brought out the wrong bottle of wine we ordered and the staff gave us glares and dirty looks when we mentioned about the lack of choice on the menu now.

Rude staff, poor food, the only decent thing about Marino Rocks is the background music. For such a pretty location what a let down, next time I'd rather go somewhere else. None of my family members or anyone we know will ever go there again, too bad word spreads fast.

My family and I have been going to this cafe for years. In Adelaide I don't think it comes much better for the views, the food, staff and the occasional dolphin sighting! It's a great place to reunite with the family in front of the sea and enjoy a great meal. I recommend this place to all my family and friends.

These people have no idea about running a cafe at all. Food quality very poor for example my partner and I had a squid salad and the squid tasted just ok but the lettuce was slimy and brown. Felt like we were rushed and yes won't be going there again. They looked under staffed.
