A very relaxed Cafe by Day serving fantastic All Day Breakfasts and great coffee that transforms itself into a cosy International Restaurant at night.

Went to Lars this evening after not having been for some time. I may be wrong but it appears to have new managers or owners in place. Change has not been for the better. First, I couldn't order from the breakfast menu as I had in the past. If you’re offering a mixed grill and similar food, why can't you offer the breakfast of bacon, eggs sausage, etc? Then they brought the wrong drink for my wife, I think Pinot Noir Chardonnay Brut is clearly different from Sparkling Shiraz.
This was rectified but I told the waiting staff we wouldn't be staying for a meal as I couldn't order the breakfast. Within less than a minute breakfast was available. My wife ordered the Moroccan beef which she enjoyed. My breakfast arrived sans the fruit juice that forms part of the meal, the tomato was stone cold, the bread wasn't toasted (and wasn't Turkish as stated), the mushrooms had been micro waved and the Kransky was mushy and undercooked.
I went to settle the bill and politely report the issues to which I received a 'Sorry' and nothing else, complimentary coffee would have seemed reasonable. I produced my eDine hospitality card and did not receive the promised discount. Our total bill was $48 and I was charged $43.90 instead of $38.40. I questioned this and was told it was correct. I said I won’t be back and I won’t.
Disappointing after a three or four year association on a regular basis. I would also observe that the number of patrons was considerably less than I remember and the service was slow considering the ratio of staff to diners.

Just had lunch there. Long wait, wrong food brought out for me and the Moroccon beef salad was appalling. Certainly not value for money. $33.80 that could have bought us one fantastic meal at Georges on Waymouth.

This place used to be our favourite for a long time when it was called the perfect cup. I don't know if the management has changed but we had a bad experience with a pizza about 6 months ago. There was hardly any topping on it and we paid about $32 for it. When we asked the staff member why there was hardly any topping on it we got attitude. I thought that was the last time I'm going there.
Anyway, I decided to give them another go. I wish I hadn't because a similar incident happened again. We ordered our meals and they were not cooked how we had requested. The staff member argued with us about the request quite loudly in front of other customers making us feel very uncomforable. After about a minute of the staff member arguing with us about it, they said, ok fine we will make you another one. It came back and was a bit better, but spoilt our whole expereince of being there.
Will never go there again. I don't know who runs that place but they seriously need to take a look at staff and the attitudes they give customers with genuine concerns and requests. The poor attitudes of staff are turning people away from that place which is a shame because it used to have a good reputation. Lesson to learn, never argue with a customer!

I have been to a lot of nice cafe's around adelaide, and I really must say that Lars has a coffee that makes me keep going back time after time, it is a local coffee Roaster in edwardstown called Diamond coffee, if you truly love your coffee you must try this one (its fantastic).

Usually a great place, but this time found equivalent of 3/4 of an egg shell in the eggs benedict, told wait staff who told us that we had eaten over 80% of the meal and couldn't have a new one, that it was their policy. We didn't even ask for a new one! A free cup of coffee and a genuine apology would have sufficed. Pity, we used to love going there!

Go here every weekend for their great coffee and every now and again splurge on a fantastic breakfast (one of the best in Adelaide) and great value to boot.
