Went to The Greek for a Christmas lunch and very very disappointed! At $65 a head with 20+ of us, most of us had to get some junkfood on the way home!

During our main meals, there were no condiments served with our meats. We asked for the tomato sauce that was meant to come with our meatballs, the senior staff had "double check" the menu as she didn't seem to believe us that the sauce was missing. Then, they only brought one small serve! We then had to ask again to supply sauce for the other 5 main meal platters!

The food was nice, but one of each item (one slice of haloumi, one meatball, one lamb cutlet etc) is very expensive. We expected to have beverages inclusive or have Christmas decorations on the table for this amount!

When we finished lunch, spending over $2000 in total with food and wine, we were short a couple of dollars ($2-3). We were stopped and asked to finalise our bill! Not that I would ever expect to eat for free, but as we had spent so much money, I thought $2-3 dollars could have been waived.

I understand that Christmas is a busy time and yes, restaurants always amp up the price of regular meals. But this is just ridiculous! A place that once was "the place to be" for Greek food, has really changed my mind. Very disappointed that myself and everyone else here at our workplace won't be eating there again.

Very disappointing, they couldn't get basic greek right. I wanted a light meal so I order the haloumi and a Greek salad. Greek salad - tomatoes were cheap and tasteless, cucumber was stale and not even peeled (there is no Greek salad in Greece with the cucumber skin left on!), fetta cheese was soapy Aussie feta (what happened to the Greek in the Greek salad).

Haloumi - the menu says Cypriot cheese, so you expect the cheese to be imported from Cyprus, no such luck, I got 3 thin slices of a locally made tofu consistency nothingness, which is made from cow's milk and is a totally different flavour (as in no flavour) and consistency to the stuff from Cyprus, which is made from sheep's and goat's milk and much much better.

The local stuff is also cheaper, I reckon it cost them 50c to a $1 for that serving and they charged me $15, what a rip-off! I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew it was locally made, 2 reasons, tasteless and full of lactose, to which I'm intolerant. I questioned them about it but they were still happy to take my hard-earned.

Ambience was good, but anybody can grill meat, so they just need to get the authentic Greek food-right.
    Lies, greed and stale cucumber!!

Ever reliable, always good food and it is even better if you go with others and share the platters. The platters are huge and there is plenty of variety. The quail and prawns are especially good. For food, this is possibly the best Greek restaurant in Adelaide. Ideal situation, 8-10 people and share the Seafood Platter and Opympian Meat Platter. You are likely to still have left overs. Yum!

Not my favourite Greek restaurant in town, but I'm willing to give it a second chance. Unfortunately the night we dined there, they had no room left inside and then forgot about us out on the footpath, where we were left to wonder if we'd ever be served.

When the waitress finally came out to serve us, she addressed us with a tone as if to say "why didn't you come in before you sat down out here?" (which we had, as we had been seated by a different waitress outside). The food was good, but I've had better. As said, worth a second go, but next time I'll book in advance and make sure we get a table inside.

The food was very good, typical Greek style. One lamb dish was almost inedible as it was still bleeding, but the rest of the food was delicious. Service was excellent and professional. Atmoshpere was boring though, however, it was cool considering outside was 40 + degrees. I recommend you try this place is you like Greek food.
