I ate at cafe Fellini last night, and I was shocked by the changes I'n the cafe it was like a whole new restaurant, I have eaten there in the past and can honestly say that it was better then ever before. We had the most lovely waitress and it was like everything was timed to perfection, my guest usually eat in much more expensive restaurants and they were very impressed, it was such a nice meal, one of the owners even took time to chat with us about their plans for renovations... A real great casual place to eat.

One my second visit to this cafe, I was expecting amazing service (as my first visit was outstanding). But I didn't get what I bargained for. The service was poor from the minute we walked in to the moment we walked out.

A guest of ours was already in the cafe so she was seated at the table we reserved. When the rest of us walked in No One attended to us to show us where our table was. So that left us looking around to find the table. Luckily our guest that was already at the table got up and found us.

We sat down, no menu's were brought to our table. I personally had to get up and ask the waitress. She then came back with three menu's (we had 6 guests, so we were forced to overlook each others).

We were asked for drink orders. But were never asked again throughout the night. We had to ask numerous times, my partner ordered a round of drinks, but never got them. The waiter had "forgotten". I ordered a glass of wine, the waitress came back with it and literally shoved it in my face, rather then placing it appropriately on the table in front of me.

We ordered our meals. The first lot that came out took well over an hour. Three of us (including me) still hadn't got a meals 15 minutes later. Two of us got ours, but I was still waiting. I patiently continued to wait. Our guests and myself kept asking where my meal was. And the wait staff kept replying "its coming, its coming", no profesionalism at all and the meal never came. So the senior staff had to come out to see me to "explain". There was no sincere apology. He didn't offer anything to apologise for his staff's stuff up. He just kept blaming "the waitress" and "she'll pay for it".

Not sure what this meant but that was no way for the senior staff to act. You don't go around blaming your staff infront of your customers. As a senior staff you take responsibility for your staff's actions. So, my meal came out 10 minutes after that. I never understood what actually happened. Where the stuff up was.

I have no problem saying that the food was great. But the service for the night just put me off, and that sealed my view of this cafe. Eventually, they offered me a free glass of wine. But by this point it was clearly too late. This should have been said from the beginning of the stuff up, not the end when I was already pretty angry about it. The senior staff should have offered something when he came out.

I was forced to eat alone, because everyone had finished their meals by then. As a rule of hospitality, all meals should be brought out at the same time. No 10/15 minute gaps between them, or in my case not at all. We refused to pay for my meal in the end, even though how was a great dish, the formality in which it was brought out was not good enough.

I doubt that I will be going back anytime soon. And I wouldn't recommend going there to anyone who expects good service, you won't get it here. I understand all hospitality industries have their "off days" but you should act with professionlism at all times. Accept responsibility and make it up to the customer. We are paying you, we are the ones keeping you going in the end.

I used to live in North Adelaide and ate here often. They were pretty good about 5 years ago. I went back a few months ago and I was highly disappointed. It's not the same place. The food was awful and the service below average. The place wasn't as busy as I remember but still too many tables and chairs jammed into a small space. I am sad that this place has gone downhill. Many other better cafes within walking distance.

I wish that restaurants, like this one, would stop serving garlic pizza, especially when their menu says garlic bread. I haven't ever gone to a bakers delight, or brumbys, and asked for a sliced white loaf and been handed a flat pizza! come on people, do we have to get out the dictionary here? And whats more, we were charge ten bucks for it! ridiculous!

The actual pizza that we did order was a decent size, but bland at best. They seem to fall into the same trap as a lot of wood oven pizza makers do and fail to follow the rule of less is more when making pizza, too much topping just 'boils' instead of cooks and results in not alot of flavor, some good herbs and such would not have gone astray here.

The service was pleasing, and the staff friendly enough but if you tell your customers that you'll be back to take their wine order, make sure you come back! We finished our meal and were cashed out by another of the wait staff and it was never mentioned. Somehow the pizza, the 'bread' and two soft drinks came to just under $45, not sure how, but then again, we did have 2 menus on our table but both had different prices on them, maybe you get to choose the cheaper one if you ask nicely?

Apparently that was 'one of the old menu's', ok, so whats it doing out then? Overall experience was average, at best. I'd steer clear if you have other options, I know I will be.

I've eaten here many, many times, but the last was appalling. Took the family on clipsal 500 weekend. We ordered a child's size carbonara, a caesar salad for me and a seafood pizza for the husband. Heavens. They weren't busy, yet the meals took a while, my salad came out smothered in dressing and upon close inspection, all the cos was wilted, dark and slimy/bruised. The cherry on top was having the browning stalk of the cos in the salad too!!!

No wonder it was smothered. It was replaced with a chicken salad which suffered the same cos lettuce fate and was covered in dressing also. I did not eat it. I did ask what chef was playing at, dressing and serving such poor food but was merely met with lots of big eyed blinks!!

Hubby's seafood pizza was disappointing. Sparsely topped and the softshelled crab smelt funny. We will never set foot there again and tell all our friends of our 'experience'.
