I went to the Botanic Garden Restaurant for my mother's 60th birthday with a group of 8. The surroundings were very nice, so green this time of year. The food was quite nice, certainly not good value, most of our group thought their meals were good, but not excellent. The desserts were plain and average. What really let the experience down was the despicable, arrogant service.

Our waitress was openly rude from the beginning, we were all made to feel like we were a nuisance and that she had better things to do. She wasn't attentive, forgot many items that were asked for and to top it off, when we wanted to split the bill, which was close to $700, we were told in an aggressive manner "we don't have time for this" and they made us all feel terrible. The waiter from behind the bar also made a rude comment, which I wasn’t supposed to hear.

I found that they charged an extra $47 for a bottle of wine, which we never received! Upon politely asking for a refund, the waitress begrudgingly refunded the money and never apologised, in fact she was rude about refunding our money. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she over charged intentionally. I will never be going to that place again.

Nice food in lovely surroundings, though the building itself suffers a little from faded glory. Service very attentive and helpful. The relatives I went with were impressed, I thought it was a little over priced.
