Alphütte restaurant was built in 1983 and has been operated by owner Leo Schadegg since.

Our consistently award winning restaurant has won 20 American Express awards, been entered in the hall of fame twice, and been voted by the SA dining public as the Best Restaurant in 2000.

The Swiss influenced eating icon is proud of its relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, prompt and attentive service, and absolute consistency over the last 27 years.

I went here for a work lunch and we had a 3 course set menu ($85/head). I normally dislike fine dining restaurants, but Alphutte seems to be one that concentrates more on providing beautiful food than creating art on a plate and overcharging for it. The meals were absolutely amazing, no complaints around the table, the sides were generous, the service attentive but not intrusive, and good value for the quality, size and presentation. Overall, an excellent experience and I would highly recommend that if you are going to splash out on a dinner, then Alphutte is an excellent choice - you won't be disappointed.

I have been to Alphutte several times, for birthday functions, romantic dinners and family dinners. Each time I come here, I am very impressed. The food is very affordable for the quality it offers and the desserts are amazing. The staff are also very professional, once we had a problem with the coffees and the staff could not have been more sincere and apologetic. The service here is always excellent and unintrusive. I always enjoy coming to Alphutte and it's definitely a favourite restaurant of mine in Adelaide!

Food delicious and would have been more so if the service had been better. The extraordinarily young waitresses had no clue about etiquette, managed to put through the incorrect meat request so a rare steak came out grey. When we asked for this to be rectified the senior staff came over and leaned over the table staring at all our dishes for at least a minute, did not acknowledge our existence then stalked back to the kitchen in an apparent huff.

The wine was kept topped up in my 22 yo brothers glass but the birthday girl and mother were ignored and when served were served last. Food great but don't expect special service.
